The Ultimate Summer Packing Checklist

Every time I travel, I make a new list on my phone with all the stuff I have to remember to bring or do. As I get ready for my Europe trip and make yet another list, I thought it would be useful to write everything down and share it with others in the same boat. A one stop shop for the ultimate summer packing checklist and some tips. Traveling can get a tad stressful, so I just tell myself that as long as I have the basics, I can pick up whatever I missed once I get there just as long as I have my passport, accommodation info, and money. Some game changers for traveling: Space saving bags : To avoid any additional stress, I have been traveling with just a carry-on for any trips that are 10 days long or less. And although it might sound difficult I promise it's much easier once you buy some space saving bags. I brought these bags before my last trip and they were a game changer. You just roll the bag to push all the excess air out and you're left with something that is half th...

Travel Diary: NYC (JULY 2022)

After 2 years of no travel, we booked another last minute trip to NYC at the end of July. We purchased our tickets on Friday and were on our flight Saturday morning. The last time we had been to New York was back in 2018.

This time we stayed at another hotel with an amazing view of the city the Moxy NYC Chelsea. Moxy Chelsea is situated right in the flower district so every walk back to your hotel you got to walk by and experience all the beautiful plants and flowers at the flower shops. The hotel itself was very basic, the room was fairly clean,  but the main reason we stayed at this hotel was the view. We stayed on the 29th floor in room 2909 and got to take in all the amazing sights right from our hotel.

This was our second time in NYC and both times we had stayed in Midtown Manhattan. For our next visit I would definitely consider staying somewhere in the Lower Manhattan area.

On our first day we dropped our stuff at the hotel, and started our journey down to Greenwich Village.  The closer we got to lower Manhattan the more quaint things started feeling. We really enjoyed this area.  We wanted to see the Friend's apartment, and grab something to eat.

We ended up grabbing a couple delicious fresh falafels from Mamoun's and headed to Washington Square Park to enjoy them. Unfortunately we were so hungry I never got to grab a picture. We also ended up grabbing some ice cream from Van Leeuwen as it was a VERY hot July day. The ice cream was rich, and super creamy, we really enjoyed them.

The next day we had booked tickets to go to SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, and so we wanted to find breakfast somewhere close to Bryant Park to go and enjoy. This started to become one of our favorite ways to take in the city, grab some food and eat it in one of the many beautiful parks. We found a bagel shop called, Best Bagel & Coffee, and let me tell you they truly did not disappoint. They were huge bagels, and we definitely could have shared, but they were absolutely delicious, and fresh.

After enjoying the morning we headed over to One Vanderbilt, were we got the enjoy some of the most breathtaking views of the city. We've been to couple observatories in NYC, personally SUMMIT has been my absolute favorite so far. There different rooms provided such different enjoyable experiences, each with their own spectacular views. I definitely recommend going to this observatory.

On our way back to the hotel from SUMMIT we passed by a ramen shop and could not resist even though it was definitely too hot outside for a warm bowl of ramen, but we went in anyway.  And I'm so glad we did, the restaurants name was Ajisen Ramen, we ordered both the Ajisen & Spicy Ajisen ramen, and both were so deliciously rich and flavorful.

Later that evening we took the train to Citi Field stadium to watch a New York Mets game, and although I'm not a huge baseball fan like my husband, I do really enjoy watching the games in person, I find them much more enjoyable this way, plus I get to try all the different stadium foods, and drinks.

We ended up leaving a day earlier than planned due to flight cancelations because of heavy rainfall, but regardless we enjoyed our short visit there and can't wait to go back soon

Have you been to NYC, anything you highly recommend doing while there? Would love to hear from you in the comments.
